The latest Sam Allardyce survival story has got off to a rocky start, with West Brom having lost their last two Premier League games against Leeds and Arsenal respectively by an aggregate scoreline of 0-9. Allardyce will be relieved to have gotten his team on the training over the last few days and the FA Cup third rounds provides Allardyce with the perfect opportunity to record his first win as Baggies manager. Blackpool welcome the Premier League side to Bloomfield Road and the League One side won’t prove pushovers, having won five of their last six games in all competitions on their own patch without suffering defeat. Despite the benefits that a cup run brings, West Brom and Allardyce could well see this as an unwanted distraction in their quest to stay in the top flight and as such field a weakened side. A close eye will need to be kept on the starting line-ups, but Blackpool double chance could well prove the value play in this game.
