THE PREDICTION
Despite suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to league leaders Norwich in their most recent Championship fixture, Barnsley are enjoying a good season so far, sitting ninth in the table with an outside chance of pushing into those all-important playoff spots. Here they take a break for league action to host Tranmere in the FA Cup third round, with the League Two side hoping to pull off an upset. Last season saw Tranmere make it to the fourth round after knocking out Premier League side Watford at this stage of the competition. The visitors aren’t expected to make it easy for Barnsley and may even find the net themselves, however the hosts look hugely impressive under head coach Valerien Ismael and the Tykes are expected to win this one, with their young side likely having too much energy for Tranmere to deal with here.
