THE LOWDOWN

WOLVES

  • Wolves secured their first win of these season’s Premier League last time out after beating Watford 0-2 away from home, with Hwang Hee-chan coming off the bench to score on his debut.
  • That goal could see Hwang rewarded with a start in what is set to be his first home appearance for the club, possibly in place of Francisco Trincao, whilst both Pedro Neto and Jonny remain long-term injury absentees.

BRENTFORD

  • Brentford suffered late heartbreak last weekend, falling to their first Premier League defeat of the season at the hands of Brighton courtesy of a solitary goal deep into second half injury time.
  • Both midfielder Joshua Dasilva and defenders Mads Sorensen remain absent for the trip to Wolves with head coach Thomas Frank set to decide whether changes to his starting line-up are necessary following the Brighton defeat.

THE PREDICTION

After a tough start to the season, Wolves will be hoping that their win over Watford acts as a springboard for them going forward as they look for a second successive league triumph here at home to Brentford. Whilst the Bees came out on the losing side against Brighton last weekend, their backline impressed once again and will prove difficult for Wolves to break down, having conceded just two goals so far in this season’s Premier League with only three other sides boasting a better defensive record. Wolves themselves have only shipped three goals thus far in the league after four games and a tight encounter is expected here. Whilst Bruno Lage’s side are to be favoured for victory with home advantage in their favour, backing under 2.5 goals scored also looks to be a smart play.
