Chelsea's expected line-up against Tottenham

Graham Potter has quite a few reasons and excuses for not being able to get Chelsea playing well with a bloated squad lacking any hierarchy or cohesion but, quite frankly, they should be getting better performances and results than they are. Their poor form and lack of selection consistency has made predicting a Blues’ starting line-up fairly difficult.
Due to restrictions on their UEFA Champions League squad, Benoit Badiashile is not in it but has become a regular in the Premier League eleven. The Frenchman should form a partnership with Thiago Silva for this one with Silva rotating into the team ahead of fellow experienced centre-half Kalidou Koulibaly.
It would also be no surprise to see Potter use his renowned tactical flexibility to switch system to a back three for this match with summer signing Wesley Fofana likely to start alongside Silva and Badiashile.
After a week of no football and then another midweek coming up with no game, rotation is not necessarily required for this match so both Reece James and Ben Chilwell should start at wing-back.
Mateo Kovacic and Enzo Fernandez appears to be the dead set central midfield pairing, especially in the continued absence of N’Golo Kante due to injury.
Attack has been the major issue for The Blues throughout the campaign as they have managed to score just 23 goals in 23 games in the Premier League so far this season. The idea of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returning to the eleven will tempt the former Brighton boss but, for whatever reason, the Gabonese forward appears set to be almost permanently out of favour.
Instead, with three attacking options in the match due to the likely switch in system, he is expected to name a fluid front three with Joao Felix, Kai Havertz and Mason Mount filling the roles. Raheem Sterling has had a disappointing time of it at Chelsea so far, whilst Mykhaylo Mudryk has also underwhelmed.
