Arsenal enjoyed a 1-0 victory at Leicester City at the weekend as they stay at the top-of-the-table. The Gunners come into this midweek’s clash against Everton on the back of back-to-back victories but Mikel Arteta, despite Arsenal’s impressive performances throughout the campaign, is still tinkering to find the exact right formula in attack.

The back-line has not been exempt from the Spaniard’s axe with Ben White having surprisingly dropped out of the starting eleven in recent weeks for Takehiro Tomiyasu. The former Brighton defender has since returned to reclaim his spot and he is expected to retain his spot. However, given that the last game he was rotated out for was also in midweek, it wouldn’t be a major surprise to see a switch.

The other full-back position is also a potential change with Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has been superb for Arsenal, keeping out his cover, Kieran Tierney. Either change would be unlikely and they should still flank the central defensive partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel.

Martin Odegaard is influential for Arsenal and he will start in their midfield three but the skipper’s two partners are less obvious. Jorginho and Granit Xhaka have both performed well but Thomas Partey would be expected to return to the line-up if available. The Ghanaian is a doubt, though, so an unchanged midfield remains likely.

Eddie Nketiah was dropped for Saturday’s victory at the King Power with Arteta favouring a fluid attack. Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli both played out-wide or up-front throughout that game and actually combined really well for their decisive goal. It wouldn’t be a surprise for Arteta to persist with that but, given the need to rotate ahead of the restart of their UEFA Europa League campaign next week, Nketiah could well come back into the side.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Jorginho, Xhaka; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli

UNAVAILABLE: Elneny (Injured), Jesus (injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Partey (Injured)
