THE LOWDOWN

WATFORD

  • Watford will be delighted to return to Vicarage Road for this one, having both games played on this ground in all competitions so far this season, beating Aston Villa in the Premier League and Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.
  • Centre-back Francisco Sierralta could feature if FIFA regulations are ignored but Christian Kabasele is expected to replace him in the starting line-up otherwise, whilst striker Joao Pedro hopes to be passed fit for this one.

WOLVES

  • Three matches and three defeats by a single goal represents a tough start to the season Wolves, although their displays have arguably deserved more than what they have got, with a lack of cutting edge in front of goal ultimately proving costly.
  • Striker Raul Jimenez could be available which would be a huge boost for the visitors, otherwise Daniel Podence could make his first Premier League start of the season.

THE PREDICTION

Wolves have shown some real promising signs especially from an attacking perspective under new head coach Bruno Lage, but with no goals and no points to their name the pressure is now on them to turn things around at Vicarage Road. That won’t be easy against a Hornets side who themselves will be eying up this match as an opportunity to gain some much-needed momentum following two successive away defeats in the Premier League. With that in mind, an end-to-end battle could be on cards with neither side likely to be happy with a point. Both Watford and Wolves are yet to keep a clean sheet in the league this season and that is not expected to change here when factoring in the attacking mindsets of each team.
