THE LOWDOWN

WATFORD

  • Watford’s 1-0 defeat away to Leeds Utd led to the Hornets sacked head coach Xisco Munoz and replacing him with former Premier League winner Claudio Ranieri, who will take chance of his fourth club in England’s top flight for the first time here.
  • Unfortunately for Ranieri, he will have to make do without centre-backs Christian Kabasele and Francisco Sierralta through injury alongside midfielder Peter Etebo, however forward Joshua King is hoping to be passed fit to play.

LIVERPOOL

  • Liverpool are now the only side remaining yet to be beaten in this season’s Premier League with their final match before the international break seeing them play out a thrilling 2-2 draw with fellow title rivals Man City
  • After international duty for Brazil, first-choice goalkeeper Alisson and midfield enforcer Fabinho have both flown straight to Spain to prepare for the midweek Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid so they miss out here, although in better news right-back Trent Alexander Arnold looks to have recovered from injury in time to feature, as has Diogo Jota.

THE PREDICTION

Even without a number of first team players, Liverpool look to be in good shape ahead of this match and their menacing front three, which includes the in-form Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are expected to be afforded plenty of joy against a Watford defence who are yet to keep a clean sheet so far this season in the Premier League. Whilst an improved performance is likely from the Hornets at home under their new boss, the overwhelming strength and class of Liverpool going forward should lead the visitors to a fairly comfortable victory at Vicarage Road.

Tip: LIVERPOOL TO WIN
