THE LOWDOWN

TOTTENHAM

  • Nuno Espirito Santo continued his successful start to life as Tottenham boss in the Premier League last weekend, beating his old coach Wolves by a single goal scored from the penalty spot by Dele Alli.
  • Spurs were hugely boosted this week by the news that star striker Harry Kane has declared that he will be staying with the club this season and after coming off the bench against Wolves, could well be afforded his first Premier League start of the season, although fellow attacker Heung-Min Son is nursing a thigh injury and is doubtful for this next game.

WATFORD

  • After their surprising 3-2 victory over Aston Villa on the opening weekend of the season, Watford were brought back down to earth last Saturday away at Brighton, losing 2-0 in a match where they looked devoid of ideas offensively and were arguably lucky to lose by just two goals.
  • The Hornets were without midfielder Juraj Kucka on the South Coast and head coach Xisco Munoz will be desperate to have him available here, whilst fellow midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah faces a race against time to recover from illness.

THE PREDICTION

The news that the 2020-21 Premier League golden boot winner Harry Kane would be remaining at Tottenham for this season at least will have given the whole club a huge boost, increasing morale even more following a hugely positive start to this Premier League campaign. Watford meanwhile, were given somewhat of a reality check last week and the odds are firmly stacked against them in this one. When taking into account the all-round superior quality and strength-in-depth of this Tottenham squad compared to their newly promoted opponents, any result other than a third successive victory for Nuno’s Spurs in the Premier League would be considered a shock.

Tip: TOTTENHAM TO WIN
