THE LOWDOWN

TOTTENHAM

  • The pressure continues to grow on Nuno Espirito Santo after his Tottenham side were beaten away to West Ham last Sunday, their fourth London derby defeat so far this season.
  • A hamstring injury to Bryan Gil renders him a serious doubt for this one, whilst Ryan Sessegnon is the only other notable absentee for Spurs.

MAN UTD

  • A 0-5 hammering at the hands of their biggest rivals at Old Trafford last weekend represented one of the darkest days in Man Utd’s recent history, not to mention that it now leaves the Red Devils with just a single point from the last 12 available to them.
  • Midfielder Paul Pogba was issued with a deserved red card in that match after a terrible challenge on Naby Keita and the French international will be suspended here, although boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that both Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial will recover from injury in time to play a part in North London.

THE TEAM NEWS

TOTTENHAM

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Emerson, Romero, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Skipp; Moura, Ndombele, Son; Kane

UNAVAILABLE: Sessegnon (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Gil (Injured)

MAN UTD

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Matic; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo

UNAVAILABLE: Pogba (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE: Amad Diallo (Injured), Martial (Injured), Varane (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Each of these two sides are simply desperate for three points here to placate their respective supporters, who are understandably getting angrier and angrier by the week. Tottenham will be aware that Man Utd have kept just one Premier League clean sheet all season and have shipped nine goals across their last two league matches, so have no excuse not to deploy an ultra-offensive play-style in front of their own fans. However, Spurs themselves have not registered a Premier League shutout since all the way back in August, which doesn’t bode well against a forward of Cristiano Ronaldo’s quality. Two fragile backlines lacking in confidence should lead to plenty of chances at both ends of the pitch and backing both teams to score looks a no brainer in this one.

Tip: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
