THE LOWDOWN

TOTTENHAM

  • Tottenham deserve huge credit for going to Anfield last weekend and holding Liverpool to a 1-1 draw, even taking the lead at one stage and only conceding via a deflected goal, but the point ultimately saw them lose ground on Arsenal in the race for Champions League football.
  • Spurs’ injury situation is unchanged with Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga all set to miss out once again, so Antonio Conte will more than likely opt for an unchanged starting XI.

ARSENAL

  • Arsenal were indebted to Eddie Nketiah this past Sunday, whose early brace helped Arsenal overcome Leeds Utd by two goals to one, extending the gap between them and their North London rivals to four points in the table.
  • Mikel Arteta is likely to have centre-back Ben White back available and could well have a very tough call to make on whether he brings White back into the starting XI, or keeps faith with Rob Holding, who has deputised admirably in his absence.

QUESTIONABLE:

ARSENAL

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Elneny, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah

THE PREDICTION

All the pressure is firmly on Tottenham here, with anything less than three points making their mission to leapfrog Arsenal into fourth spot not far off impossible. The Gunners would no doubt be more than happy with a draw, but they’ll be confident of gaining more having won each of their last four Premier League games. Spurs have no choice but to take the game to Arsenal, deploying a highly offensive style of play which makes them a serious threat going, but could well see them exposed defensively by a young, quick Arsenal attack. Add in the powder-keg of this being a North London derby and a highly exciting, entertaining affair appears very much on the cards. Both teams to score is expected and is well worth backing, regardless of the final outcome.

Tip: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
