THE LOWDOWN
SOUTHAMPTON
- Southampton were knocked out in the fifth round of the FA Cup at home by League Two Grimsby Town in their most recent outing in midweek. The Saints sit at the bottom-of-the-table after a 1-0 loss away at Leeds United last weekend.
- Che Adams is an option once again after recovering from his injury and it would be no surprise to see him line-up here, while the Saints have a mostly fully-fit squad for Ruben Seles to choose from here.
LEICESTER
- Brendan Rodgers is under major pressure as Leicester City boss with The Foxes in a genuine relegation battle. The visitors’ 2-1 defeat at home to Championship Blackburn Rovers in the cup comes after back-to-back Premier League defeats as they sit just three points above the bottom three.
- Rodgers appeared fairly optimistic on James Maddison’s availability, but he must do without Youri TIelemans who will miss around six weeks of action with ankle ligament damage.

THE PREDICTION
It shouldn’t be mentioned but let’s mention it anyway: this fixture finished 9-0 to the visitors a couple of seasons ago. Now, moving on, both sides are in trouble. Southampton have given the job to Ruben Selles until the end of the season and, whilst they won their first match under his stewardship at Chelsea, they are now four points adrift of safety ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures and that could be even more by kick off. Leicester have been entertaining to watch with 78 goals coming in their 24 games so far this season and they cannot be trusted defensively. Given that, as well as Saints' need to score and home advantage, this one may well be an entertaining encounter.
TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
