THE LOWDOWN

NORWICH

  • Newly-promoted Norwich remain without a Premier League point, largely due to a fiendish start to the season that has seen them face both Liverpool and Man City, losing 0-3 and 5-0 respectively.
  • Defender Sam Byram will miss this one due to injury, however head coach Daniel Farke may look at making a few changes from the side who lost at Man City after their thumping 6-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup, with the likes of Josh Sargent and Christos Tzolis both contenders to play having each scored twice against the Cherries.

LEICESTER

  • Brendan Rodgers will expect a response from his Leicester side after they were thrashed 4-1 away at West Ham this past Monday, with the first half sending off of attacking midfielder Ayoze Perez a huge factor in their defeat.
  • Perez will therefore be suspended for the Foxes’ trip to Carrow Road, whilst Leicester’s defensive injury crisis continues as Ryan Bertrand, Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana, James Justin are all set to miss out here, with centre-back Jannik Vestergaard also a doubt.

THE PREDICTION

Norwich will sense an opportunity here to attack Leicester at Carrow Road, aware of their injury struggles defensively and having seen the damage done to them by West Ham last Monday. With no points and no goals on the board after two Premier League games, head coach Daniel Farke has little choice but to gamble and push bodies forward whenever possible in front of an expectant Carrow Road crowd. Whilst this may see them create a high number of goalscoring opportunities, it could also leave them exposed to the counter attack and with the likes of Jamie Vardy among the Leicester ranks, that spells trouble for a Norwich backline who have already shipped eight goals this campaign. It should however, lead to an entertaining encounter between two sides desperate for three points and both teams to score looks on the cards.
