THE LOWDOWN
MAN CITY
- Man City bounced back emphatically from defeat away at Tottenham with a 5-0 thrashing of newly promoted Norwich, which saw new signing Jack Grealish score on his home debut to the delight of the City supporters.
- Midfielder Phil Foden remains unavailable and won’t feature for Pep Guardiola’s side until after the international break, whilst Kevin De Bruyne faces a race against time to be fit for this one having missed the win over Norwich.
ARSENAL
- Arsenal enjoyed a welcome break from the Premier League woes in midweek, thrashing Championship side West Brom 0-6 at the Hawthorns with the returning Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netting a hat-trick to help ease the pressure on boss Mikel Arteta.
- Aubameyang is now expected to make his first Premier League start of the season away at Man City whilst new signing Martin Odegaard should also feature, although Bukayo Saka is a doubt with a knee injury suffered against West Brom, as is left-back Kieran Tierney, who suffered thigh cramps in his side’s 0-2 defeat at home to Chelsea last weekend.

THE PREDICTION
Man City will be licking their lips at the prospect of taking on an Arsenal side who have given such a poor account of themselves so far in this season’s Premier League. An improved showing may be on hand for the Gunners in this one with a number of key players back in the fold such as strikers Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette alongside a morale boosting win in midweek. They’ll need more than that however, to overcome the reigning champions who have beaten Arsenal in each of their last eight Premier League games. Even if Guardiola is without the services of talismanic midfielder De Bruyne, that run looks like being extended here and a Man City win has to be favoured in this one.
