THE LOWDOWN

LUTON

It's been a mixed week for Luton as they picked up their first league win of the season against Everton last weekend, but then followed that up with defeat to fellow promoted side Burnley on Tuesday.

In their clash with the Clarets, they went behind on the stroke of half-time to a Lyle Foster goal, and it wasn't until the 84th minute that Elijah Adebayo equalised. The Hatters were denied a point though, as Jacob Bruun Larsen restored Burnley's advantage just one minute later.

TOTTENHAM

Tottenham are one of only two unbeaten sides remaining in the Premier League, but they were certainly fortunate last week when a significant VAR error went in their favour during their dramatic encounter with Liverpool.

Curtis Jones' first-half red card set the tone for a dramatic day, and after Luis Diaz's goal was incorrectly chalked off, Heung-Min Son opened the scoring for Spurs before Cody Gakpo drew Liverpool level just before the break. Liverpool, who were reduced to nine men when Diogo Jota received his marching orders for two yellow cards in the second half, held on bravely but Joel Matip put the ball into his own net in stoppage-time to hand Spurs the three points.

THE TEAM NEWS

LUTON

Centre-back Amari’i Bell will miss out after coming off with a hamstring injury against Burnley midweek so Reece Burke, his replacement in that match, is likely to start.

Ross Barkley has returned to full fitness and is set to be included in Rob Edwards' squad.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Kaminski; Mengi, Lockyer, Burke; Kabore, Mpanzu, Nakamba, Doughty; Brown, Ogbene, Morris

UNAVAILABLE: Bell (Injured), Osho (Injured), Potts (Injured), Clark (Injured), Lokonga (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

TOTTENHAM

Manor Solomon is out for a significant period of time with a knee injury, but James Maddison and Heung-Min Son have trained all week and are available.

Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil have returned to training after their respective issues.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Kulusevski, Maddison, Richarlison; Son

UNAVAILABLE: Whiteman (Injured), Sessegnon (Injured), Perisic (Injured), Bentancur (Injured), Solomon (Injured), Johnson (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Lo Celso (Fitness), Gil (Fitness)

THE PREDICTION

Tottenham may have had a helping hand from VAR last weekend but there is no doubt they are playing with plenty of belief right now as Ange Postecoglou's excellent start to life in the Spurs hot seat continues. Here they face a Luton side who have shown some improvements of late but they are still clearly lacking the quality required to compete in this division on a regular basis. With messrs Maddison and Son fit for this contest, expect Spurs to have too much for the hosts.

TIP: TOTTENHAM TO WIN
