THE LOWDOWN

LIVERPOOL

  • Despite fielding a much-changed side from the one which won the FA Cup final, Liverpool did enough to overcame Southampton 1-2 in midweek, meaning that they have a chance to dramatically win the Premier League on the final day of the season, depending on both their result here and that of league leaders Man City.
  • Jurgen Klopp’s biggest decision is whether to risk the likes of Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk in this match, but whilst both could be passed fit Klopp is unlikely to take any chances with a Champions League final around the corner.

WOLVES

  • Wolves could only draw 1-1 with rock-bottom Norwich last weekend, ending any hopes they had of European football next season, largely due to a really poor recent run which has seen them fail to win any of their last six games.
  • Defenders Max Kilman and Romain Saiss will miss out, as will full-back Nelson Semedo, and against a team that boasts the offensive class that Liverpool do, the versatile Leander Dendoncker could come back into the starting line-up

THE PREDICTION

All Liverpool can do is beat Wolves and hope for a favour from a Steven Gerrard led Aston Villa, so their motivation for this match speaks for itself. Wolves’ season has petered out somewhat disappointingly, but the motivation to stop the Reds from winning the Premier League should serve their players well in this one. Bruno Lage’s side are not the easiest to break down, but Liverpool’s potency going forward is overwhelming, with them having racked up 91 goals in the league this season. Any outcome here other than a Liverpool win by at least two clear goals would be a surprise.

Tip: LIVERPOOL TO WIN WITH A -1 HANDICAP
