- Liverpool quest for a historic quadruple remains intact after their 3-2 win over Man City in the FA Cup semi-final this past weekend as they now turn their attentions to bitter rivals Man Utd, knowing that they can’t afford any slip-up with the Premier League title race so tight between them and Pep Guardiola’s side.
- Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to have a fully fit squad available for this encounter, although he could well make changes to his front three fielded in the FA Cup semi-final with the likes of Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino both candidates to start.

- Man Utd were indebted to Cristiano Ronaldo for overcoming Norwich last time out, the Portuguese superstar’s hat-trick enough for them to overcome the Canaries by three goals to two, keeping their top four hopes alive.
- The Red Devils are currently hit hard by injury troubles with midfield duo Fred and Scott McTominay both out, as is Edinson Cavani and Luke Shaw although centre-back Raphael Varane could be passed fit for the trip to Anfield.

However, Liverpool have been simply outstanding now for such a long period of time that it would be a huge shock if their levels were to lower in any way here. Man Utd found themselves humiliated by the Reds at Old Trafford, losing 0-5 in the reverse fixture under previous boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and whilst this contest should not prove as devastating from a United point of view, any outcome other than a Liverpool victory would be considered a big surprise.
