THE LOWDOWN

LIVERPOOL

  • Liverpool made a huge statement last weekend when it came to their Premier League title credentials, humiliating bitter rivals Man Utd by turning them over by five goals to nil at Old Trafford, with Mohamed Salah netting a hat-trick.
  • Both Naby Keita and James Milner were substituted off through injury last weekend, although the former could be fit to appear once again this match, whilst midfielders Fabinho and Thiago are not expected to recover in time to feature.

BRIGHTON

  • Brighton were comfortably beaten 1-4 last Saturday by Man City, although head coach Graham Potter can take heart in his side’s second half performance, however the Seagulls suffered penalty shootout heartbreak against Leicester midweek in the Carabao Cup.
  • Dan Burn has picked up a knee injury and is ruled out of the trip to Anfield, although fellow centre-back Adam Webster picked up some much-needed minutes in midweek and could start as part of a back three here.

QUESTIONABLE: Fabinho (Injured), Keita (Injured), Kelleher (Injured)

BRIGHTON

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Sanchez; Duffy, Dunk, Webster; Veltman, March, Lallana, Mac Allister, Cucurella; Trossard, Maupay

QUESTIONABLE: Richards (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Unbeaten after 14 games in all competitions this season and on the back of four straight victories with a whopping 15 goals scored within that period. With Salah in the form of his life having scored in each of his last ten consecutive games, the Reds should prove far too strong for the Brighton backline in the same way that Man City were last weekend. Combine that with home advantage being in Liverpool’s favour and any outcome other than Jurgen Klopp’s side winning by at least two clear goals in this encounter would be a genuine surprise.

Tip: LIVERPOOL TO WIN WITH A -1 HANDICAP
