THE LOWDOWN

LEICESTER

  • Leicester’s hopes of a first European honour came to an end on Thursday night as they were narrowly beaten by Italian giants Roma managed by Jose Mourinho in the Europa Conference League, a bitter pill to swallow for the Foxes who must now turn their attentions back towards the Premier League.
  • As it stands, only left-back Ryan Bertrand and midfielder Wilfred Ndidi are confirmed absentees for this match, although the likelihood is that Brendan Rodgers will refresh his starting XI, such is the short turnaround in fixtures.

EVERTON

  • Everton grinding out a massive 1-0 triumph at home Chelsea last Sunday gives them real impetus going forward to garner the points required to break back out of the bottom three and secure their survival, having now discovered a formula that has plugged the defensive issues which have plagued them all season.
  • Talisman and match-winner Richarlison came off late on against the Blues and has been carrying a bit of an ankle knock since the Merseyside Derby, but he is expected to lead the line from the start at the King Power Stadium.

EVERTON

PREDICTED XI (5-4-1): Pickford; Iwobi, Coleman, Mina, Holgate, Mykolenko; Gordon, Doucoure, Delph, Gray; Richarlison

UNAVAILABLE: Godfrey (Injured), Patterson (Injured), Townsend (Injured), Van de Beek (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

It’s hard to think that Leicester Europa League semi-final second-leg in Rome just three days previous to this won’t have had an effect of their squad both physically and mentally and a battle-hardened Everton are in prime position to capitalise. The Toffees may have a terrible record away from home, but at the business end of a relegation battle, form can go out of the window. Provided Frank Lampard’s men maintain the high level of performance shown against Chelsea, then they have to be favoured to gain a point from this match if not all three. Back them to achieve this via the double chance market.

Tip: EVERTON WIN/DRAW DOUBLE CHANCE
