THE LOWDOWN

LEICESTER

  • Leicester will be happy to turn their attention to the Premier League and away from the transfer window as clubs continue to circle over their star players such as James Maddison and Wes Fofana.
  • Attacking midfielder Harvey Barnes alongside full-backs Ryan Bertrand and Ricardo Pereira all won't play a part in this match due to injury, whilst Brendan Rodgers faces an intriguing decision over the goalkeeper and whether to play Danny Ward or Daniel Iversen, the latter possibly in the driving seat due to a question mark over Ward's fitness.

BRENTFORD

  • After a successful maidan campaign in the Premier League, Brentford have plenty to be optimistic about going forward, although the loss of Christian Eriksen to Man Utd will be a blow for them after the Danish star shone for them across the second half of last season.
  • The Bees head into this one slightly short at centre-back with Kristoffer Ajer and Ethan Pinnock both out alongside Sergi Canos, although full-back Aaron Hickey is expected to make his debut for the club, as could attacking midfielder Keane Lewis-Potter and former Burnley stalwart Ben Mee.

THE PREDICTION

There are question marks floating around Leicester when considering their lack of transfer business so far this summer, not to mention the vultures hovering around their own players, but going forward they look as strong as ever on paper. Defensively is more of a worry though and they will of course be without club-legend Kasper Schmeichel between the sticks following his departure for Nice. As of now, Schmeichel has not been replaced and this could bode well for a Brentford side whose strong suit is also within their offence. With that in mind, both teams to score looks very much on the cards at King Power Stadium regardless of who gains the points.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
