THE LOWDOWN

LEEDS UTD

  • Marcelo Bielsa had plenty to ponder this past Tuesday night as his Leeds Utd side were ripped apart by league leaders Man City, ultimately losing 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium, meaning that the Whites have now conceded 12 goals across their last three league fixtures, picking up just one point in the process.
  • Injuries continue to plague the Leeds squad, with key players such as Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips, Rodrigo and now both Jamie Shackleton and Daniel James sidelined due to injury, although centre-back Robin Koch should return for this game after having resumed full training.

ARSENAL

  • Arsenal’s excellent home form continues to underpin what has been a promising last couple of months for Mikel Arteta’s side, with the Gunners beating high-flying West Ham 2-0 last time out, their second straight win and sixth in a row in all competitions at Emirates Stadium.
  • Arteta will continue not to consider Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for selection due to disciplinary reasons and may be forced into a change to his starting XI from midweek with Gabriel Martinelli a doubt with a knock, whilst Saed Kolasinac and Bernd Leno remain injured.

THE PREDICTION

The injury crisis currently engulfing Leeds Utd is not to be underestimated, with them having a fairly small squad even without players being unavailable for selection. This puts them at a real disadvantage against Arsenal, who will be desperate to end a run of three straight Premier League defeats away from home. The Gunners enter Elland Road full of confidence having already won twice over the past week, combining a solid defence with cutting edge going forward. When taking into account the key players Leeds Utd have unavailable, an Arsenal victory has to be favoured here, although backing the visitors via the draw no bet market would be the sensible play.

Tip: ARSENAL DRAW NO BET
