THE LOWDOWN

EVERTON

  • The pressure is mounting rapidly on Rafa Benitez after Everton succumbed to a third straight Premier League defeat last Monday away at Wolves, the Toffees having now just won one of their last seven games in all competitions, that coming at home to rock bottom Norwich.
  • Injuries to key players such as striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure and centre-back Yerry Mina has clearly proven a key factor in Everton’s recent slump and the trio miss out once again here, whilst Andre Gomes may also not be available, although left-back Lucas Digne should be fit to play.

TOTTENHAM

  • Tottenham’s 0-3 beating at the hands of Man Utd last time out in the Premier League was enough to lose boss Nuno Espirito Santo his job, with former Premier League winning manager Antonio Conte swiftly installed as his replacement.
  • Conte has the luxury of almost a fully fit Spurs squad to choose from in his first game back in the Premier League, with Bryan Gil and Ryan Sessegnon the only absentees.

THE PREDICTION

So often in football do you see an upturn in form of a previously struggling team following the installation of a new manager and having had ample time to work with the players over the past few days, it would be no surprise whatsoever if we see a completely difference Tottenham side to the one that has largely disappointed so far in the 2021-22 Premier League. One particular player who is expected to be revitalised under Conte is striker Harry Kane. The Spurs star will be desperate to show the new boss how good he is and despite having scored just once in the Premier League so far this season, a player of his class is capable of turning things round in no time. Kane has an incredible record at Goodison Park, scoring seven goals in his last four visits in all competitions and against an Everton side that shipped five at home to Watford recently, the England captain is well worth backing to get on the scoresheet in this one.

Tip: HARRY KANE TO SCORE ANYTIME
