THE LOWDOWN

EVERTON

  • After a pair of defeats in their first two games of the season, Everton really needs a win here to get their season up-and-running but their lack of potency in attack will be a concern with an own goal from former Toffee Lucas Digne being the only occasion they have found the net so far.
  • Abdoulaye Doucoure will miss around three weeks of action due to a hamstring injury, which could see Amadou Onana make his first start for the club, although the returning Allan is another contender for the midfield berth if Frank Lampard deems him fit enough.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

  • A celebratory atmosphere at The City Ground drove Forest to a 1-0 victory over West Ham last weekend, although the promoted side rode their luck in fairness and required a penalty save from Dean Henderson to preserve their lead.
  • Steve Cooper could well keep faith the same side from last week, with Taiwo Awoniyi – who scored the only goal of that game – likely to keep his place up front alongside Brennan Johnson, while the game could well come too soon for new signing Morgan Gibbs-White.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

PREDICTED XI (3-4-1-2): Henderson; Worrall, Niakhate, Mckenna; Williams, Mangala, O’Brien, Toffolo; Lingard; Johnson, Awoniyi

THE PREDICTION

Everton boss Frank Lampard will be viewing this fixture against newly-promoted Nottingham Forest as a must-win game given the Toffees are currently without a point in the Premier League, but that will be easier said than done. The visitors have looked like they belong at this level so far, and with Dean Henderson in goal, Everton’s misfiring attack are not one to be backed with confidence. Forest would likely settle for a point in this, and with Everton appearing lacking firepower right now, backing against both teams scoring looks wise.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS NOT TO SCORE
