THE LOWDOWN

EVERTON

  • Despite leading 1-2 at half-time, a second half collapse by Everton saw them beaten 3-2 by closest relegation rivals Burnley in midweek, a match Frank Lampard’s men could not afford to lose at it brings the Clarets to just one point behind the Toffees.
  • Both midfielder Allan and defender Michael Keane return to the fold following suspensions and are likely to be thrown straight into the starting line-up by Lampard as he searches frantically for a reaction from his players.

MAN UTD

  • Man Utd’s top four hopes were dealt another blow last weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester at Old Trafford and they could kick-off this match as low as eighth-place depending on Wolves’ result the night before.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo missed the Leicester match through illness and is likely to come back into the starting line-up but Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Scott McTominay and Edinson Cavani will all miss out.

THE TEAM NEWS

MAN UTD

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Jones, Maguire, Telles; Pogba, Fred; Elanga, Bruno Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo

UNAVAILABLE: Varane (Injured), Shaw (Injured), McTominay (Injured), Cavani (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Man Utd will understandably enter this match as favourites, but in what will be a proper Goodison Park bearpit, it would be no surprise if their backline were to cave in against a desperate Everton side. The Toffees however, have their own problems defensively and it’s difficult to see them keeping a clean sheet against a team with the attacking options that Man Utd have. With that in mind, back both teams to score regardless of who comes out on top.

Tip: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
