THE LOWDOWN

EVERTON

Everton were enjoying a fine spell before the break, winning three of their last five Premier League games with their only defeat in that time coming against Merseyside rivals Liverpool.

However, that upturn in form has been overshadowed by the ten-point deduction they were given for breaching financial rules - a decision described as "disproportionate" by manager Sean Dyche, with the club set to appeal the decision.

MAN UTD

Although they aren't exactly earning plaudits for their style of play, Man Utd have been grinding out results of late and the 12 points they gave gained from their last five league games is more than any other Premier League team has achieved in the same stretch.

The Red Devils have also won their last three away games in the division, but those have admittedly been against so-called 'weaker' opposition.

THE TEAM NEWS

EVERTON

Sean Dyche did not sound optimistic on Amadou Onana's chances of recovering from a calf strain, while Dele Alli and Andre Gomes are closing in on returns but this fixture will come too soon.

Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey and Seamus Coleman were given runouts in the U21 side recently, as they build up their match fitness.

PREDICTED XI (4-4-1-1): Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Harrison, Garner, Gueye, McNeil; Doucoure; Calvert-Lewin

UNAVAILABLE: Gomes (Injured), Dele (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Keane (Fitness), Godfrey (Fitness), Coleman (Fitness), Onana (Injured)

MAN UTD

Luke Shaw is free from injury but Ten Hag may ease his left-back into action off the bench rather than throw him straight into the starting line-up, while goalkeeper Andre Onana is fit to start despite some concerns over the international break.

Christian Eriksen is out for a number of weeks, but Rasmus Hojlund has a chance of inclusion should he come through a late fitness test.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Onana; Dalot, Maguire, Lindelof, Reguilon; McTominay, Mount; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund

UNAVAILABLE: Martínez (Injured), Evans (Injured), Diallo (Injured), Malacia (Injured), Casemiro (Injured), Eriksen (Injured), Sancho (Disciplinary)

QUESTIONABLE: Wan-Bissaka (Illness), Pellistri (Injured), Hojlund (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Although Man Utd have been putting wins together lately, they haven't exactly been convincing and they now take on a motivated Everton side who will be roared on by a passionate Goodison Park crowd, who believe their club has been unfairly punished by the Premier League. In what his likely to be a cauldron of an atmosphere, consider backing the hosts to secure at least a point, if not all three.

BETTING TIP: DOUBLE CHANCE – EVERTON OR DRAW
