THE LOWDOWN

EVERTON

  • Home is where the heart is for Everton and most important, it is their form at Goodison Park which is keeping them above water in the relegation dogfight, with the gap between themselves and 18th-placed Burnley currently at three points.
  • In a huge boost for Frank Lampard, defender Yerry Mina is expected to be passed fit and could play some part in this one, as could Donny van de Beek.

LEICESTER

  • Leicester unsurprisingly rotated heavily away at Newcastle last Sunday following their Europa Conference League game three days previous to that and the Foxes paid the price, losing 2-1 through a 95th minute goal from the Magpies.
  • Once again, Brendan Rodgers is likely to make significant changes although this one should come too soon for Jamie Vardy who is edging closer to a return.

THE PREDICTION

Whilst one team have their Premier League livelihood at stake, the other has bigger fish to fry in the form of their European exploits. That along with home advantage being in their favour, should see Everton seize the initiative here, making up for their lack of natural ability compared to that of Leicester with hard work, commitment and desire. The Foxes will be desperate not to suffer any injuries when considering their Europa Conference League semi-final first-leg against Roma is just eight days away and this is something the hosts will look to exploit by utilising plenty of aggression both on and off the ball. Ultimately Everton’s will to win should make the difference between these two sides and that combined with a partisan Goodison Park crowd is expected to lead the Toffees to another crucial three points.

Tip: EVERTON TO WIN
