THE LOWDOWN

CRYSTAL PALACE

  • A comprehensive 3-0 defeat away at Liverpool last time out ended Crystal Palace’s three-match unbeaten run in the Premier League, but victory in this one would see that forgotten about very quickly by the Palace fans.
  • The versatile Jeffrey Schlupp is set to be included in the squad, whilst boss Patrick Viera against must decide whether or not to hand a first league start to striker Odsonne Edouard.

BRIGHTON

  • Four wins from five Premier League matches so far see Brighton currently sat inside the top four heading into this latest round of fixtures, a dream start for Graham Potter’s side.
  • Defensive midfield Yves Bissouma has played a huge part in their excellent form, but is currently struggling with a knee injury and the Seagulls will be desperately hoping he recovers in time to feature at Selhurst Park.

THE PREDICTION

Pride is at stake for both these two sides here with a fierce rivalry between the supporters making this one of the most important matches of the season for each. Whilst Brighton are in far better form than the Eagles, the form book normally goes out of the window in a fixture of this magnitude and with home advantage in their favour, Crystal Palace will prove intimidating opponents. Both teams will no doubt maintain a level of defensively stability here, not taking any risks that could leave them exposed, knowing the consequences defeat to their nearest rivals would bring. With that in mind, an encounter low on serious clear-cut chances could be in prospect with goals at a premium, so back under 2.5 goals scored in this one.

Tip: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
