THE LOWDOWN

BRIGHTON

  • Brighton have struggled for goals across the majority of this season, but certainly not across the past couple of weeks having found the net five times in their last two league games, picking up four points including a 0-3 triumph away at Wolves most recently.
  • Both Jeremy Sarmiento and Enock Mwepu will miss the visit of Man Utd through injury as will Jakub Moder, who is a long-term loss through injury.

MAN UTD

  • Man Utd’s final Premier League match at Old Trafford ended in victory for the Red Devils via three goals to nil over Brentford, but they remain five points adrift of the top four having played two games more than both Arsenal and Tottenham.
  • Illness rules Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford out of this game and although both Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw also won’t feature, defender Harry Maguire has been passed fit.

THE TEAM NEWS

BRIGHTON

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Cucurella; March, Bissouma, Caicedo, Trossard; Gross, Mac Allister; Welbeck

UNAVAILABLE: Moder (Injured), Mwepu (Injured), Sarmiento (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

MAN UTD

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Varane, Telles; McTominay, Matic; Mata, Fernandes, Elanga; Ronaldo

UNAVAILABLE: Pogba (Injured), Sancho (Illness), Shaw (Injured), Rashford (Illness)

QUESTIONABLE: Bailly (Injured), Wan-Bissaka (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

It’s rare to see Brighton prove so potent in front of goal, but boss Graham Potter appears to have finally found a formula for his side going forward that is reaping rewards, so Man Utd have a big task on their hands to overcome the Seagulls here. An in-form Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line for the visitors combined with Brighton’s recent offensive success may well lead to an entertaining contest at both ends of the pitch and regardless of who comes out on top, backing both teams to score looks a shrewd play.

Tip: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
