THE LOWDOWN

ASTON VILLA

  • Aston Villa’s inconsistency have proven their kryptonite recently having won two and lost two of their most recent four Premier League games, however they have picked up seven from a possible nine points at home.
  • International commitments and the short turnaround in fixture time could see goalkeeper Emi Martinez and midfielder Douglas Luiz rested here, whilst Dean Smith will be without Leon Bailey who has not recovered in time.

WOLVES

  • After a slow start to the season, Wolves have come into their own in recent games, winning three of their last four games and have seemingly found a potent partnership going forward in the form of Hee-Chan Hwang and Raul Jimenez.
  • Attacking midfielder Francisco Trincao misses out due to a bout of COVID-19, whilst players such as Jonny and Pedro Neto remain long-term absentees.

THE PREDICTION

Aston Villa have proven themselves as a very strong outfit on their own ground so far this season, but in Wolves they face a side who is gaining momentum steadily as the season goes on. Fixtures involving the visitors aren’t known for being full of action, with over 2.5 goals scored in just one of their seven league games played so far. When taking into account the local rivalry between both clubs, neither team are likely to take any unnecessary risks going forward and a tense game may be in prospect, therefore backing under 2.5 goals looks to be the sensible move.

Tip: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
