THE LOWDOWN

ASTON VILLA

  • Since Aston Villa’s 0-1 victory away at Man Utd, Dean Smith’s side have been beaten in each of their last three Premier League matches and Villa fans will be expecting a significant improvement from what they saw last Friday night at the Emirates Stadium as their team lost 3-1 against Arsenal.
  • New signing Leon Bailey has struggled for an extended spell of full fitness since joining the club, but the winger did appear from the bench against Arsenal, although fellow wideman Bertrand Traore did not and faces a race against time to be fit for this one.

WEST HAM

  • West Ham backed up their excellent 1-0 victory at home to Tottenham last Sunday by knocking high flying Man City out of the Carabao Cup on penalties in midweek and the Hammers are now unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions.
  • Only Alex Kral is a confirmed absentee for West Ham’s trip to Villa Park after testing positive for Covid-19, with boss David Moyes otherwise benefitting from a clean bill of health for his side

THE PREDICTION

Aston Villa come into this match under a bit of pressure following a poor recent spate of results and West Ham certainly have the offensive tools to make life very uncomfortable for the hosts here. Forward Michail Antonio will prove a nightmare for the Villa defence and with a plethora of quality attacking midfielders within the ranks, the Hammers contain plenty of goals within their side. Most importantly, West Ham have tightened up defensively and four successive clean sheets in all competitions is a testament as to how well their backline has performed in recent weeks. When taking this into account, backing the in-form side in West Ham to come out on top at Villa Park via the draw no bet market looks very much the smart play.

Tip: WEST HAM DRAW NO BET
