THE LOWDOWN

ASTON VILLA

  • Aston Villa come into this one on the back of defeat after being beaten 2-1 by West Ham last Sunday, ending a run of three straight victories for Steven Gerrard’s side.
  • The hosts contain a number of players doubtful here including Calum Chambers and Douglas Luiz, whilst Lucas Digne and Marvelous Nakamba are out.

ARSENAL

  • Arsenal put up an excellent fight against Liverpool in midweek, but their five-match winning run came to an end courtesy of a 0-2 defeat, but with the Gunners in the top four they’ll be looking to establish a four-point cushion between themselves and Man Utd.
  • Despite the loss against the Reds, Mikel Arteta is unlikely to swap around his tried and tested starting XI unless right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu is passed fit, with Emile Smith-Rowe likely forced to settle for a place on the bench once again.

THE PREDICTION

Despite their loss at the hands of Liverpool, Arsenal’s young stars have proven themselves worthy of mixing it with the best with their showing against Jurgen Klopp’s men and a positive response is expected from them against Aston Villa. Inconsistency has plagued the hosts under Gerrard, but the likes of Philippe Coutinho will need to be shut down by the likes of Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey as he will no doubt provide a big threat here for Villa. However, Arsenal are likely to cause the home defence no ends of problems and with a little more cutting edge than shown against Liverpool, the Gunners will be confident of emerging with the three points. Therefore, back Arsenal via the draw no bet market.

Tip: ARSENAL DRAW NO BET
