THE LOWDOWN

ARSENAL

  • Three games, three defeats and nine goals conceded see Arsenal rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, although they can leapfrog Norwich with victory here at the Emirates Stadium.
  • Captain Granit Xhaka is suspended after being sent off in their 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Man City last time out and misses out here, although central midfielder Thomas Partey could make his first appearance of the season in his place.

NORWICH

  • Norwich have made ominously poor start to life back in the Premier League, losing all three of their opening games although they have been difficult fixtures against Liverpool, Man City and Leicester respectively.
  • Following some excellent performances for the Republic of Ireland over the course of the international break, centre-back Andrew Omobamidele could be rewarded with a place in the Canaries starting line-up here, whilst Christos Tzolis faces a race against time to be fit for the trip to North London.

NORWICH

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Krul; Aarons, Hanley, Omobamidele, Williams; Lees-Melou, Gilmour, McLean; Cantwell, Pukki, Rashica

UNAVAILABLE: Byram (Injured), Mumba (Injured), Placheta (Injured), Zimmermann (Injured), Giannoulis (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

The pressure is well and truly on Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta who knows that failure to gain three points here will likely cost him his job. In Norwich they face the ideal opponents with Daniel Farke’s men the only side to have conceded more Premier League goals than the Gunners so far this season. The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up front, alongside Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka in attacking midfield should be afforded plenty of clear-cut opportunities to score here and as long as the Gunners are clinical in front of goal and maintain their discipline as they failed to do at the Etihad Stadium last time out, then Arsenal with home advantage in their favour look set to secure a much needed first Premier League victory of the season.

Tip: ARSENAL TO WIN
