THE LOWDOWN

ARSENAL

  • Arsenal’s three match Premier League winning streak may have come to an end away at Brighton last time out, but a point against Graham Potter’s side certainly doesn’t represent a poor result, with the Gunners having accrued ten points from the last 12 available to them ahead of this game.
  • Captain Granit Xhaka’s knee injury is expected to keep him out until Christmas time, while Gabriel Martinelli is head coach Mikel Arteta's only other injury concern at this stage.

CRYSTAL PALACE

  • Crystal Palace will have taken huge heart from coming back from two goals down against Leicester before the international break to draw 2-2, although they are now winless in their last three Premier League games.
  • Attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze and defender Nathan Ferguson remain on the sidelines for the Eagles with neither having featured as of yet this season due to injury.

THE PREDICTION

Arsenal will be desperately hoping that the international break hasn’t stunted their momentum, which had been generated following an excellent run of results that included beating North London rivals Tottenham 3-1 at Emirates Stadium. Crystal Palace however, have struggled on the road this season so far, picking up just a point from three league games away from home and getting knocked out of the Carabao Cup at Vicarage Road against Watford. This poor form doesn’t look set to change here against an Arsenal side who should be full of confidence with a fearless attacking midfield getting better by the game alongside a solid defensive unit. Expect the hosts to come out on top with Patrick Viera tasting defeat on his return to the club in which he boasts legendary status as a player.

Tip: ARSENAL TO WIN
