THE LOWDOWN
ARSENAL
- Following the postponement of their match away at Tottenham last weekend, Arsenal returned to action this past Thursday, losing 0-2 to Liverpool in their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg clash at Emirates Stadium.
- That match saw Thomas Partey sent off, meaning that he will miss this match through suspension alongside Granit Xhaka, whilst Mohamed Elneny and Nicolas Pepe remain on international duty.
BURNLEY
- Burnley are expected to finally get back out on the field in the Premier League, having been forced to postpone their most recent two fixtures due to a combination of injuries and COVID-19 cases, leaving them with a huge backlog of fixtures to deal with.
- A key absence for the Clarets however, is attacker Maxwel Cornet who is away at the Africa Cup of Nations, with his loss stunting them greatly going forward, such is his quality.

THE PREDICTION
It’s crucial for Arsenal here that they get back to winning ways, but in Burnley they are facing a side now at the bottom of the Premier League table and fighting for their lives. However, it remains to be seen how much the recent Covid-19 outbreak among their squad has affected the Clarets and combined with the absence of Cornet, Sean Dyche’s side are in far from ideal shape heading into this one. Arsenal should be in a prime position to capitalise on this and when taking into account the quality they possess going forward along with home advantage being in their favour, back the Gunners to gain a hard-fought three points here.
