Wolves gained revenge on Southampton for knocking them out of the FA Cup by beating them 1-2 at St Mary’s last weekend after coming from behind in the second half. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have now picked up seven points from their last three Premier League games as they look to have put their recent slump well and truly behind them. Here they host Leeds Utd, whom they beat 0-1 in the reverse fixture at Elland Road back in October. The Whites are coming off the back of a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Arsenal, with midfield ‘quarterback’ Kalvin Phillips badly missed within the Leeds starting XI. The availability of Phillips will likely play a defining role in this match. If the England international is out injured once again, then it’s difficult to see any other outcome than a Wolves win here. However, if Phillips is fit to play, then he will help provide the protection so desperately needed by a Leeds defence ravaged by injuries and make Marcelo Bielsa’s side a more intimidating opponent. Either way, it would be a surprise if the hosts picked up nothing from this contest so favouring them double chance would be the safe option here.
