THE PREDICTION
It may have been a poor start to the season for Southampton, but the Saints have really turned their form around, with four wins and draw from their last five Premier League games. Their rich run of form sees them sit in 5th place, however much of this down to star striker, Danny Ings. And it isn’t good news for Saints fans with Ings suffering a knee injury that could see him out of action for 4-6 weeks. The loss of Ings will hurt Southampton, and make maintaining their form, starting with Newcastle, much more difficult, but we have seen a rejuvenated Southampton side as a whole, compared to last season, and they have the quality to get a result against Newcastle. That being said, the Magpies themselves have picked up some impressive results so far and also look a much better side than last season, therefore you feel it may be a close game on Friday evening. A draw and perhaps BTTS could be a reasonable bet.
