THE PREDICTION

Striker Danny Ings made a timely return to Southampton’s starting line-up in midweek against Crystal Palace and the 28-year-old duly shone, netting twice in a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace. The Saints have recorded seven points from their last three league games at St Mary’s and with home advantage in their favour here, they head into this clash with Fulham as clear favourites. Scott Parker’s Whites were consigned to relegation last Monday after losing 0-2 at home to Burnley. Fulham have endured a terrible recent run of form having lost six of their last seven games, accruing just a single point over the course of those fixtures. With the visitors’ confidence on the floor following relegation, an Ings led Southampton should take full advantage and secure a comfortable three points in this one.
