THE PREDICTION
Both these sides come into this match off the back of disappointing defeats in midweek. Despite taking the lead early on, Southampton fell to a 1-3 defeat at home to Arsenal and it was a similar story for Aston Villa, who led twice vs Burnley only for the Clarets to comeback and ultimately beat Dean Smith’s side 3-2 at Turf Moor. Neither will want to suffer a second successive loss and that could lead to an edgy contest here. Both teams have been credited for their strong defensive over the course of the season and the two managers will be hoping to show that solidarity here after conceding three goals apiece in midweek. Ultimately, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a low scoring contest between these two sides and after a tough week, both may be content to settle for a share of the spoils.
