THE PREDICTION

Leicester’s 1-2 victory away at Man Utd this past Tuesday night was enough to crown Man City Premier League champions for a seventh time ahead of their trip to Newcastle. Pep Guardiola’s side fell to a 1-2 defeat against fellow Champions League finalists Chelsea last weekend, but that result did not prove costly and they can now celebrate. However, Guardiola is a professional and will want to finish the domestic season on a high ahead of their big European final. Whilst Newcastle will prove resilient opposition having lost just one of their last six Premier League games and coming off the back of an excellent 2-4 win away at Leicester, the quality of Man City from a strength in depth perspective should prove too strong for the hosts here, especially as a number of City players will be looking to making their case to Guardiola as to why they should start in that all-important Champions League final.
