THE PREDICTION

Defeat for Arsenal at home to Everton was the latest blow in their quest to finish within the European places at the end of the season. It’s clear that the Gunners are prioritising the Europa League, with the winners of that competition earning a place in next season’s Champions League and this match may be seen as somewhat of a distraction, with it being sandwiched in between both legs of Arsenal’s two Europa League semi-final vs Villarreal. For Newcastle however, three points would take them to 39 overall and on the brink of safety. A late equaliser away at Liverpool last weekend extended their unbeaten run to four Premier League games and full of confidence, the Magpies are in a great position to take advantage of an Arsenal side who have won just once in their last five league matches and the hosts are to be favoured here double chance.
