THE PREDICTION

A victory and three points added to the tally was exactly what Pep Guardiola and Manchester City needed following consecutive draws against Manchester United and West Brom, with City expected to carry on this form and slowly rise up the table. Newcastle come into this one off the back of a 1-1 draw with relegation candidates Fulham and a 5-2 loss to Leeds prior. The most alarming result of the lot however, would be their 1-0 defeat to Brentford in the EFL Cup mid-week, which makes it three games in a row without a win for Newcastle now. They have picked up some good results against City in recent seasons but it is hard to see them improving enough to get anything here. Expect their unwanted run to continue, with City likely to win this one fairly comfortably.
