THE PREDICTION

Leeds Utd return to Elland Road having fallen to defeat last time out in a hard fought contest away at Wolves which saw them beaten 1-0. They face Southampton, who ended a run of six straight Premier League losses with a creditable 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea this past weekend. They’ll be hoping to back that up with victory here, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side expected to once again be without key midfielder Kalvin Phillips due to injury. Such an absence has proven incredibly damaging to Leeds recently and it is no coincidence that they have lost their last two league games as a result, with their defence simply not afforded the protection that Phillips’ presence provides them. Southampton pose a dangerous threat particularly on the counter attack, boasting pacy outlets such as Nathan Redmond and Danny Ings up top alongside Liverpool loanee Takumi Minamino, who opened his account for the Saints at the weekend. With that in mind, consider the visitors here draw no bet.
