THE PREDICTION
Defeat for Tottenham at home to Man Utd last weekend leaves them six points adrift of the top four, with Jose Mourinho’s side having lost form at the worst possible time picking up just one win and four points from their last four league matches. Everton’s hopes of European football next season are also looking bleak after drawing 0-0 away at Brighton last time out. The Toffees are now winless in four Premier League games although victory here would see them leapfrog Spurs in the table. Matches between these two sides at Goodison Park are normally entertaining affairs and their last three fixtures in all competitions in Merseyside has seen a whopping 19 goals scored, including most recently Everton’s 5-4 victory over Mourinho’s men after extra time in the FA Cup earlier this season. With a draw no help to either side here, another attacking affair is expected as both teams are expected to adopt offensive styles of play in order to try and win the game. Therefore, over 2.5 goals scored over 90 minutes looks very much on the cards.
