THE PREDICTION
Chelsea’s run of 14 games unbeaten in all competitions with seven successive clean sheets under head coach Thomas Tuchel came to an end in dramatic fashion this past weekend, after the Blues were reduced to ten-men following the sending off of centre-half Thiago Silva and subsequently thrashed 2-5 by lowly West Brom. Tuchel’s men return to Premier League action following their Champions League first leg quarter-final away at Porto in midweek and they cannot afford to show any mental or physical fatigue from that game with opponents Crystal Palace capable of pouncing on it. A late equaliser for Eagles saw them take a point from Goodison Park last Monday and they return home here having not lost in their last three home league games, recording three successive clean sheets in the process. However, the visitors will still be hurting after that humiliating loss at the hands of West Brom and with the race for Champions League places heating up, the quality and strength in depth of the Chelsea squad should lead them to secure a vital three points on the road in their battle for a top four spot.
