THE PREDICTION

Successive Premier League defeats for West Ham including most recent a 0-1 loss at home to Chelsea have seen Thomas Tuchel’s side overtake the Hammers and knock them out of the all-important Champions League spots. This match takes place on Monday night and depending on Chelsea’s result against Fulham two days earlier, West Ham may find themselves six points behind the Blues come kick off. Burnley had been nervously looking over their shoulders over the past few weeks after sliding closer to the bottom three following a run of three straight league defeats, however a thumping 0-4 victory away at Wolves last time out eased their worries significantly and they enter this match full of confidence. Recent matches involving Burnley have seen plenty of goals at each end, with both teams finding the net in six of the Clarets’ last seven league games. West Ham will surely look to take the game to the home side, knowing that failure to win may prove fatal to their hopes of finishing in fourth-place. However, this may lead to Burnley punishing them on the counter attack and so whilst the result itself could go either way here, both teams to score may prove the smart play.
