THE PREDICTION
Man City secured their 12th straight victory in all competitions at the weekend after beating bottom placed Sheffield Utd 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side are now sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League and with a crunch showdown at Anfield next Sunday vs defending champions Liverpool, it is vital that City carry on their winning momentum here against Burnley. Following a run of three straight wins in all competitions, the Clarets were brought back down to earth by Chelsea this past Sunday after losing 2-0 to the Blues. Sean Dyche will be particularly worried regarding injuries to his forwards with both Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood big doubts for this match, the latter having suffered a thigh injury during that Chelsea game. Burnley will attempt to rough Man City up with their physicality and make things uncomfortable for the league leaders, however Guardiola’s side won’t be phased. Man City have a great record against the Clarets, having won their last seven matches against them in all competitions, scoring 28 goals and conceding just once! With that in mind, another comfortable victory here by at least two clear goals is expected for the visitors.
