THE PREDICTION
After throwing away the lead twice to lose away at Burnley, Aston Villa responded very well in their most recent Premier League game, beating Southampton 0-1 at St Mary’s this past Saturday. Ross Barkley scored the only goal of the game which took Dean Smith’s side within a point of Tottenham, Chelsea and Everton. Here they host a West Ham side who are off the back of a 1-3 defeat at the hands of Liverpool. Prior to that game, the Hammers had won their last six matches in all competitions and were in excellent form. However, Aston Villa have proven themselves as a very strong outfit this season and a tight contest is expected. Both sides have the tools to win this one, but with each well aware of the threat posed by the opposition, it may be the case that the two teams are happy to settle for a draw.
