THE PREDICTION
Two local rivals lock horns on the South Coast as Premier League side Southampton travel to Championship outfit Bournemouth. The Saints have suffered through an extended spell of awful league form, having won just once in their last 12 Premier League games. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have had no such problems in the FA Cup however, winning all three of their matches without conceding a goal and with their league season petering out, it is clear that the FA Cup is now the number priority for them. Bournemouth meanwhile, are facing a scrap to finish in the Championship playoff places as they currently sit two points outside of the top six. The FA Cup will provide a welcome distraction for both sides and the local element of the contest will add a little spice to the occasion. Whilst a close encounter is expected, the visitors should do enough to win this one and book their place in the semi-finals.
