Blackburn Rovers come into this on the back of a frustrating 1-0 defeat away to Swansea City at the weekend. Rovers had a rotated side with Reda Khadra dropping to the bench and Ben Brereton Diaz, on return from the international break, also only managing half-an-hour. The Lancashire club have played more games than the teams around them but they begin this midweek round of action sitting in the top two and the automatic promotion spots. They now come up against a Nottingham Forest side that, under the impressive management of Steve Cooper, have gone from bottom-of-the-table to the cusp of the playoff places. The visitors hammered Leicester 4-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup, too, at the weekend, just to solidify their strong form. A draw would appear the likeliest outcome for this one.
