Play-off semi-finalists last season, Barnsley have slumped to within three points of the relegation places heading into this midweek round of fixtures and are on currently a run of seven straight league games without a win. Barnsley fans are starting to turn on head coach Markus Schopp, who desperately needs three points here against Nottingham Forest to ease some of the pressure. Forest have managed to acquire four points from their last two matches since the removal of Chris Hughton as head coach and they head into this one with confidence. That isn’t likely to prevent a turgid affair at Oakwell however, with under 2.5 goals scored in each of Barnsley’s most recent three fixtures. It would be no surprise to see the same outcome occur in this one, regardless of who comes out on top.
