THE PREDICTION

Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe suffered their 22nd Championship defeat of the season in midweek as they fell to a brave, but ultimately fruitless 1-0 loss away to QPR. The Chairboys set bottom of the league and a near certainly to be relegated, however Ainsworth will ensure that his side don’t give up and with home advantage vs Preston they will look to start this contest on the front foot and take the game to the Lilywhites. Wycombe are more than capable of finding the net at least against the visitors providing they push bodies forward and show the attacking intent that you’d expect from a team who needs more than just a point in this one. However, Preston have some ruthless Championship players going forward at their disposal and could be set to capitalise on the counter attack, should Wycombe leave gaps in behind as they press forward. With that in mind, both teams to score may well prove the smart play in this encounter.
